Galley by the Straits + Bottle Tree Night

To celebrate Maz’s belated birthday, we met up for dinner last Friday at an interesting location – SAF Yacht Club off Sembawang.

The restaurant is sea-facing, a stone throw away is our northern neighbours. As i did not bring my tripod along, i did not capture any proper night shot, hence will not bother with posting the lousy pictures up. But you can take a look at their website here.

The restaurant warm orange lightings was made warmer by their in-house singer who made our night a lot more ‘lively’. So much so that we have to speak at the top of our voices, falling short of shouting.

The talented Ang Moh who kept singing for 80% of the time we were there, even entertaining diners song requests. Makes us wonder what songs he can’t play/sing. We decided not to quiz him with tough newly released songs…

Having our appetisers while waiting for the arrival of Old Mother – Huifen. Stomachs already starting their orchestra…

Luckily she arrived when we were almost done with our starters. It was another long wait before our dishes were served as (according to the waitress) there was only 2 chefs preparing western food (which most of us order), hence the torture.

After dinner, we pondered a while on where to head to next before Ash suggested Bottle Tree Village where we could do some prawn-ing. Been a long while since we did our convoys.

It’s different when you ride together.

Shortly after one wrong turn, we made our way into the Bottle Tree Village, where Ash was fascinated by the ancient weighing machine.

“Can i have a volunteer please?”

We are to keep Huifen’s weight a secret, luckily its within the weighing machine’s limit of 500kg.

Seeing the mini-prawning crowd, we did the next most logical thing…

Presenting… Zech the Fisherman.

Starting with 2 rods for 1hr, we eventually extended it to 2.5hrs due to the overwhelming excitement of catching the prawns. And also a friendly rivalry from the prawning teams of NIE – MAE – NBS.

Maz amazed everyone by getting a catch within 2 minutes of lowering his rod. Kampung power lah!

The momentum sort of slowed a little, before their quick change of rod, and the MAE boys are back in business.

Huda is just getting started with her prawning spree, you should have seen how she man-handled (or lady-handled) our prawns.

No Mercy!

The crowded pool. Makes us wonder if there were enough prawns for everyone. Somehow our catch always look smaller than those that we caught opposite us.

Nonetheless, patience is the way to go.

Our trophies for the night being prep for our dinner table. Not the prettiest of sight.

Catching the prawns with their bare-hands seems harder than using the rod.

While the boys are busying with getting the prawns onto the stick, the ladies are manning our grill… while I’m just snapping pictures.

While most of us would be happy with our prawns cooked, Ash has other ideas. He decided to have it raw, as fresh as it could be.

As he demonstrated how it should be eaten, we were all busy taking pictures & videos of his Bear Grylls act.

Just for Ash: Next time, try to have your prawns eaten when they are orange in colour, not grey.

R.U.N. 3 - Port Dickson

This is not going to be an easy post, due to the overwhelming load of pictures (click here to see the whole album) but i shall try my best to sum up the whole trip.

As per schedule, the guys and girls arrived at KTM before the stipulated time, probably too excited about the trip... i know Huifen is. Jumping up and down like a 6 year-old who has gotten her new toy.We left KTM after our caffeine fix and headed for the 2nd link under the midnight skies. The long stretch of AYE we travelled on will soon seem like peanuts compared to the 264km of North South Highway that we are going to embark on.

We cleared the causeway and were soon at the first pump at Gelang Patah at about 12.30mn or so. Checking and making sure all our tyres are of the suitable pressure before setting off, during which we discovered some really powerful tyres.

About an hour later, we reached our first R&R checkpoint to rest our butt from the vibrating uzap-like machines. Topped ourselves with some fingerfood and more caffeine before refueling our scooters.

We attacked the NS highway soon after, bracing ourselves for the cold dark night, sadly no pictures of us while riding (obviously) and another hour or so later, we hit our next R&R checkpoint with the same routine. Just that this time round, Maz wanted a quick change of his coil so that his Proma pipe's performance is not hindered.

A small hiccup as we were about to exit the Highway for our last pitstop as Cy's scoot came to a halt with an empty tank due to a leak somewhere. So Maz and I kick-push the Vespa into the petrol kiosk, which thankfully wasn't too far away... otherwise we'd end up with elephant leg each.

Our last pump before heading off the highway and into the winding trunk roads of Port Dickson. Finally, we are almost there. Almost. As day breaks, we found ourselves in unfamiliar territory, whipping out our map to reconfirm our position as well as to keep the raincoat away.
Yes, it started to rain quite heavily when we were a couple of kilometers away from PD.

Here we are at some eatery for our breakfast while waiting for the kind uncle to deliver the keys to our apartment to us as well as to lead us into our accommodation. By the way, it's raining while we ate.

Maz determined to find the source of the leak. Which he did eventually. Kudos to him, wouldn't know what to do without him. Our travelling mechanic, lead rider, navigator, translator and photographer. While he was out there troubleshooting, the rest of us took turns to shower, not so friend uh? We support you spiritually lah~

Don't worry, we won't follow you in there.

We took our well-deserved nap (about 2hrs?) just to recharge some of our juice before we go check out the beach & lighthouse in the afternoon. It had been a long day for most of us, having to work/go school earlier on.Here we are climbing the slope leading to the lighthouse, waiting to be mesmerised by the landscape ahead (or rather seascape).

The view that took our breath away, a sure death plunge lies just ahead.

The climb up to the lighthouse took its toll on our stomachs, the sweet aroma of food cooking away in the distance did no help to fight off our hunger pangs so we headed for the Telok Kemang beach for foodie.

And a little more of slacking by the beach, we head for another location nearby for some seafood dinner which was marred by the stingray (which stinks of ammonia) and the price.
That's the stinky stingray in the foreground, which we later asked for a replacement with a seabass as it was really unbearable. It's like eating in a toilet. Where got appetite!?

We got some tidbits after dinner to idle the rest of the night away in our comfy little house, but before we slack our lives away. We did what all Vespa lovers would do... shower them with TLC.

The rest of the night was spent in front of the TV watching and debating about Memoirs of a Geisha, in particular, the role of a Geisha. After which, it was light-hearted annimation Shrek 3 to entertain the kid in all of us... then slowly, one by one, we felt the bed bug... We had to rest early as we are checking out at 10am the next day. A very tight schedule.

So the journey back begins, basically revisiting the same spots we went to during the night journey but now with better vision and more vehicles on the road. AND, A&W is open. So we get to lunch in there. They really should consider returning to Singapore, a lot of us still has a sense of nostalgia for them.

Minor stuff. Wire got loose.But it's cool to stop my bike somewhere along the NS highway that stretches into the horizon

Our final makan place and pump before heading back to familiar ground. Some satays and drinks to end our Malaysian leg of the ride.

The 3rd R.U.N. was accomplished safely and with lotsa fun... but i have to say it really tested our endurance (or rather patience). A slow ride is not something everyone can tahan, but i'm proud we all did it. They say that it's the journey, not the destination that matters. It's as true as it can be for this R.U.N.!

R.U.N.3 Port Dickson - FINALISED

Hi all! Firstly, Happy New Year!
Here are the finalised details of the trip.

(i) Attendees:
1. Maz
2. KK

(ii) Accomodation:
Address: Lot 3880 No 1. Batu 12 Jalan Pantai, Port Dickson
Type: Bungalow with 3 rooms
According to the map, seems like it's by the sea. But don't expect it to be fantastic coz it's in the residential area.
Fee: FREE

(iii) Logistics
We'll be bringing some spare parts along but mostly are for the manual bikes coz auto bikes shouldn't have any problems at all. Items include:
Tyre repair kit (for autos)
Spare tyre, tyre tube, cables, coil, gasket, nuts blah blah

(iv) Common Fund
We will be collecting S$10 and S$20 from auto and manual bikes respectively. This common pool of money will be used to reimburse the purchase of spare parts and finance the expenses of commonly shared items like food. The remaining fund will be used to pay for our dinner before we head back to Singapore on Sunday night. In case you're wondering why manual bike riders are paying more, it's coz of the spare parts that we have bought.

So please pass me the money on Fri night when we meet at KTM. SING dollars please. No payment means you will jaga our bikes outside the house while we sleep comfortably indoors! haha

(v) Things to bring:
1. Passport
2. Raincoat and riding jacket (like I've mentioned before, night riding will be cold. Please ensure you have proper jacket to keep you warm.)
3. Cash card with minimum balance of S$5.
4. Extra clothing - some of us might be interested in sea sports. If you're keen pls standby more clothing. Then again, speaking from past experience! I think you should juz standby the extra clothing juz in case you get thrown into the water or something.
5. Other personal items.
6. Good to have: Noise canceling earphones or earplugs, cards, radio, speakers, frisbee (this i assume KK will bring), suntan kit etc etc.

(vi) Things to note
1. Please ensure your helmet has proper untinted visor unless you want to experience temporary night blindness, savour grasshoppers and dragonflies along the way or decorate your lovely faces with the 'flying' stones on the way.
2. For people with short-sightedness, you might want to consider wearing your specs instead of lens for the riding journey coz the hours of riding will make your eyes uncomfortable.
3. Money. In case you're wondering how much money to bring, RM150 (i.e. app S$65) should be sufficient for petrol and food.

And finally finally, meetup arrangements:

Hi all! Latest updates on R.U.N.3!

Date of departure: 2nd Jan (Fri night)
Time: 11pm
Meeting Venue: KTM

We will meet at KTM for supper then head for Tuas Checkpoint. Expecting to reach Checkpoint at 1am.
Upon clearing the checkpoint, we will stop at the first stop, Gelang Patah, to pump petrol then the fun begins!

Expected time of arrival at Port Dickson: Sat morning, latest 6am
Accomodation - fyi, I actually managed to get an apartment at Blue Lagoon (seaview nice private apartment). However coz it only has 2 rooms which will be too small to fit all of us comfortably, we've opted for a bungalow house instead. This bungalow house is in residential area along 12th Mile (some sort of the street name). So don't expect it to be like hotel standards okay. Good enough to rest and catch ample sleep though.(it's FREE btw)

Departure from Port Dickson: Sun morning, 10am
Expected time of return (at Sg Checkpoint): Latest 6pm (do expect some delays if there's jam)

Things to bring:
1.Passport
2.Cashcard with minimum balance of S$5 (to pay toll over at Tuas Checkpoint)
3.Raincoat
4.Clothings
5.Malaysian ringgit
6. As we're travelling into the night, it's going to be pretty cold. Do standby extra clothings or jackets to keep you warm. You might want to consider bringing a pair of riding gloves as well.

As we're covering a considerable distance this time round, we'll be bringing more spare parts along JUST IN CASE of breakdowns. Hence, if there is no major objection, we would be collecting a small amount from everyone. With that common pool of money we'll get the spare parts. We have factored in the parts for both auto and manual bikes. So no worries. The remaining money will be used to buy food and stuffs for whole group's consumption. Will upload the list of spare parts to get once the guys confirm the list.

Owing to the unavailability of the free accomodation and everyone's busy schedule, R.U.N.3 has been postponed to 2nd Jan 09 (Fri). Most of you should have received news from us regarding this.
We will leave on early morning of 3rd Jan (abt 1am) and reach Port Dickson by Sat morning.
Hopefully with the change of date, more of you can make it.

MotoGP Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2008

The hype over deafening engines isn't over yet!
Yes! We were there!

Over the weekend, Maz, myself and some friends drove up to KL to catch the annual MotoGP Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix held at Sepang Circuit.
It was definitely a fun experience to catch some good sun and watch a live race.
We snapped a total of 400 odd pics for the whole 3 days trip. What you see here are just the main highlights.

The whole place was packed by late morning. Lots of Singaporeans were there too. Getting there and leaving the place was madness.

The road leading to Sepang Circuit was packed with bike enthusiasts on both bikes and cars, all heading for THE destination.
Of coz what's a bike fest when there aint awesome bikes on display right?

Gentlemen... start your engines! (have you ever wondered why isn't it Ladies and Gentlemen.. start your engines?)

Just to side-track abit... The 2 days before the race were spent in KL city. Shopping, eating, taking teksi-s, trains and lots of jaywalking. FUN.

And now, kudos to these 3 men who took charge of the wheel and brought us there and back safely!

I must say Maz is really THE MAN! Surviving on barely 4 hours of sleep everyday, he was still sane enough to drive us around and took care of the well-being of every single one of us. So guys who are going Port Dickson this Dec, we're all in good hands of our Maz!

Let's go on our Vespas the next time round! Meanwhile, next up! Port Dickson! Woohoo!

UPDATE! I'm proposing departure on 26th Dec night and return on 28th Dec. As quoted from WX, this could be a post-christmas and pre-new year celebration. So far only WX has confirmed. The rest of you out there... check your calendar and get back! ROAR!

Yes! You didn't get me wrong. R.U.N. 3 is here!
This time round, we're targeting Port Dickson again (which was our original destination for R.U.N. 2 last December).

We're looking at December but yet to decide which specific weekend it'll be. It will be a 2 days 2 nights trip. Will be setting off from Singapore on a Friday night and will return on Sunday night.

Travelling time will be approx 6 hours.
Accomodation is free but will need to book it 2 months in advance. If interested, please get back to either myself or KK. Kindly inform us of the dates that you prefer as well. Would appreciate if you could reply ASAP coz of the accomodation.

Vivo Vespa 2008

Greetings!

Yeah! We were there at Vivo Vespa today!
The group met up at the Kallang Mac as early as 11.15am. As you can see from the pic, we took efforts to dress up for the kampung theme of the event.
The whole convoy set off at about 2pm for Tepak Sireh, a restaurant in Malay Heritage Centre. The size of the convoy was pretty impressive. It sure attracted substantial attention from other road users.

Unlike last year, we were organised into groups of 4 on random basis for the game of the day, "Kampung by Foot". Coincidently, Huda, Maz and CY were in the same team. Congrats to them for winning the 3rd prize (which includes attractive vouchers and cash!).
Congrats to KK too! Won the Best Mod Bike Award (again). A pity none of us won the Best Dressed Rider.

Buffet dinner was sumptuous which definitely made our money worth! Not to forget the goodie bag! =P

New Club Outing Spot!

Hello!
It seems like we're always meeting up for dinner or supper during our club meets. Here's something different.
Presenting to you.... The Southern Ridges!

This is a new 9km trail, officially opened less than 2 months ago. It spans across Mount Faber, Telok Blangah Hill Park, Kent Ridge Park and West Coast Park. These parks are seamlessly linked by foot trails and extremely lovely connecting bridges namely the Alexandra Arch and Henderson Waves. Other than the 2 outstanding connecting bridges, highlights of the trail include a hilltop walk, forest walk as well as the HortPark (a 23 ha park aimed at promoting gardening).

These are some of the pics from a random google search.
So instead of meeting up for usual dinner or supper, let's try something new and healthier! A leisure stroll or a fun jog through the nature while enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful scenery. If you find the 9km trail abit too long, we can always work something out. =)
Alternatively, we can always check these places out after teh on our next meetup.

So much information and so much options. Don't you agree? Haha.

R.U.N. 3... AKAN DATANG!

Yes! Once again, we did it!
Though this time round we had a smaller group of 6 bikes, it was still a whole lot of fun and new experiences to add to our riding record.

While many of you are still in bed on a Saturday morning, the group started the day with breakfast at Bukit Timah Al Ameen at 8am.

Special thanks to Rae for joining us for breakfast and seeing us off!

At Reddy's place for a final check before moving off.

It started to drizzle when we reached the Woodlands Checkpoint. Thankfully the wait at the checkpoint was rather short. Managed to clear the causeway at 11-ish.
The rain got heavier and heavier. All of us ended up drenched though armed with raincoats. Imagine riding with wet covered footwear for the whole day. Hmmm....

Nevertheless, our spirits were not dampened.
Our first hiccup came shortly after we entered JB.

But our fantastic in-house mechanic Maz settled the problem in no time. However, our second but last hiccup came minutes after the first!

That's Maz fixing a soon-to-snap clutch cable.

Reached Kota Tinggi WaterFalls by 3pm. From the pics you can tell the boys oops.. i mean guys had a good time playing in water.

Thankfully the persistent rain subsided as we moved off from Kota Tinggi to our next destination, Desaru, which is another 57km away.

The return journey was smooth though it was dark. Cleared the customs at 10pm.
One last stop at a gas station before heading for the checkpoint.

Not that I'm secretly admiring KK or WX. But don't you think it's very well taken? Good job Ash!

It's been a great day riding with good coordination and teamwork. The crazy bends, slippery roads and messy traffic. Not to forget the thrilling overtakings! Alright I know i'm making those who couldn't make it jealous. =P Let's do this again!!!

Some changes to note for the upcoming R.U.N., after-thoughts after the recce team feedback.

Instead of meeting at NTU in the morning, we will be meeting at the Carpark at the Bt Timah Food Centre, which is near the Shell station along Bt Timah Road (near the cross-junction of Jln Jurong Kechil & Bt Timah Rd).

Meeting time will be at 9.30am instead. Please have some light breakfast in case we encounter the Causeway jam. I've marked the meeting place in the Google Map on the right. Look for 'Meetup Point for 2nd RUN' blip on the map.

Lastly, do service your bike and check for any possible problems that need rectify before the trip. Enjoy the holidays!

Hi everyone!
After almost a year since our club's very first virgin R.U.N. last year, here are the details of our much anticipated 2nd R.U.N.! (Posting on behalf of Maz)

Date: 7 June 2008
Time: ~~0730~~ 0930hrs
Meeting place: ~~NTU Hall 6 carpark.~~ Bt Timah Food Centre

Destination: Kota Tinggi and Desaru. (abt 88km)
0930: Gather. Pre-ride briefing. Final check on bikes.
1000: Depart for Kota Tinggi via causeway (Woodlands).
1030: Top up feul at Gelang Patah and breakfast.
1100: Ride to Kota Tinggi.(abt 1 and a half hrs)
1130: Break for more food somewhere near Kota Tinggi. Before heading to the waterfall.
1500: Lunch and then head to Desaru.(ride duration should be between 40 mins and an hr)
1700: R&R in Desaru.
1830: Dinner and head back to Singapore.

ETA at checkpoint should be around 2030hrs or so depending on traffic conditions and group movement.

Makan place yet to confirm coz don't know where good to eat yet. But no worries. Maz and company will recce the route before the actual trip. (kudos to them!!!)

Things to bring/note:
1. Passport
2. Cash card for custom (please ensure minimum balance of S$1.40)
3. Toll fee of RM$1.80 for one way (meaning total of RM$3.60)
4. Extra garments (if you need)
5. Money for your food, rokok, drinks whatever
6. Riding jacket and raincoat
7. Photocopy of Certificate of bike insurance

More details such as pre-ride checks and instructions will be up at a later date. Meanwhile, please facilitate our preparations by informing us of your attendance asap. Thanks!

Malay Heritage Centre supported by Bikers Aid Singapore welcomes all scooters and classic bikes from all over ASEAN to the first ever Motor Show since Bikers Aid was form in September 2007.

The objective of the event is to make friends among the Bikers and increase road safety awareness. The invitation is extended to all bikers from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Brunei to join in the event. The event is set to attract a crowd of 10,000 for the day event.

Meeting place: TBA. (Going in via 2nd link)

Details of ride on the 21st
Hoping to clear the custom by 9
Will top up petrol at Gelang Patah before starting the ride
Ride will be in 4 stage and will commence at 9.30am

1st stage: Gelang Patah to Macap (about 56.5 km)
2nd stage: Machap to Pagoh ( about 71 km)
3rd stage: Pagoh to Ayer Keroh (about 54.4 km)
4th stage: Ayer Keroh to Pedas Linggi Exit 223 (about 45.7 km)

Total distance form Gelang patah till Exit is about 224.3km
Estimated time of journey is about 6 hrs max, with plenty of rest time for both riders and scooters.

Last rest at the exit before continue to Eagle Ranch

TAA Charity Ride

One of the main annual biking events, the Tabung Amal Aidifitri Ride (also known as the Bikers Aid Charity Ride 2007), helps to raise funds for the poor and needy for the identified Old Folks' homes and orphanages. The bikes that turned up for the event were countless, a magnificent sight to behold.

Here's a sneak behind-the-scene picture taken during our interview with Peiqi. That aside, i'm glad that the club has grown over the year, not in terms of just numbers, but the friendship that is fostered. We'll be celebrating our 1st Yr Anniversary with a BBQ this coming Friday. This BBQ will also be a chance for all members (new and old) to chat up and mingle ard. As we're not funded in any way, we will need a small fee from those attending. Details of event are as below:

Vivo Vespa*

NTU Vespa Club was there to join in the VCS one-year anniversary celebrations by taking part in Vivo Vespa. Essentially it was an island-wide amazing race team challenge, consisting of 4 per team. 2 teams were there for the challenge, namely:

Team 1:
Rae
Maz
Huifen
Cherng Yang

Team 2:
Kai Kiang
Ali
Eugene
Zech

It was a fun-filled Sunday with plenty of prizes to be won. In fact, our Team2 bagged the 3rd place in the island-wide challenge and got really lucky in the lucky draw by winning a couple more prizes.

Other special awards that we received:
Best Paint (Rae's scoot)
Best Mod (KK's scoot)

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank VCS (Vespa Club Singapore) for organising the wonderful event, providing us with an eventful Sunday, great prizes and food. Kudos to you guys!

Like i've mentioned way at the start (almost a year ago):

We are trying to gather all the Vespa riders in NTU, so if you own a Vespa (be it a modern or classic) and you are in NTU, we welcome you to join the club.

No points will be awarded, neither will there be any recognition by the University in any way. Its just merely, purely, entirely based on our love for our scooters. It is interesting and nice to exchange ideas/knowledge on our rides, and organise some outing or events to ride together.

Making new friends and and having great fun is just part of the whole NTU Vespa Club experience!

Friday PE Lesson

Conducted by our PE Teachers-to-be... an evening filled with plenty of games and action.

Started out with our intended game of floorball, which the NIE students joined in too. A great spontaneous bunch! Though it was the one game that made me breathless... i think i should start running as often as Rae too. But overall, wonderful time playing man, i feel healthier already!

heh, then we went on to play some badminton and basketball... AND! despite spending so much time in the MPH playing, we have totally forgotten to take any pictures in there... wasted. Cannot archive the actions, so i have to make it up with this...After our shower and waiting for the ladies to be out...

Welcome Huda and Hamzah on board NTU Vespa Club! =) Hope you will be able to join us for our next upcoming meets. Will get a bigger crowd too!

This Friday, 24th August 2007, we are having our very first sports outing. We only have the court from 4.30-6.30pm, so better not be late! Meeting time is 4pm at the NIE carpark beside the canteen marked by the red star. (No, it is not a mistake. The motorbike parking lot is not reflected in the map)

To get there, you'll have to go up this very steep slope after entering carpark 3.
Check the map if unsure of location.

Meeting place: NIE Carpark 3 Bike Lot beside canteen
Meeting time: 4pm
Playing venue: NIE Multi-Purpose Hall (Tall-roofed building beside hockey pitch and Swimming pool)
Playing time: 4.30pm-6.30pm
Attire: Comfortable loose fitting clothes. Avoid running shoes, preferably wear court shoes to avoid ankle sprains.

Shower facilities available.

Just to let everyone know, this blog has reached an important milestone. YES, this is the 100th post!!! This marks a NEW beginning. And what better way to commemorate this than welcoming the latest additions to our humble club.

A chilly night it was, but that did not suppress the light spirits abound as old and new members of NTU VESPA RIDERS came together. Everyone was excited to put a face to the scoots that they have suummoned or seen on the blog.

Amidst friendly chatter and sporadic bursts of laughter, NTU VESPA RIDERS bonded over drinks and Indian rojak. It was refreshing to see new faces besides the
BUKIT BROKEBACK BROTHERS and gang. With HF fishing out free condoms and
Carl's Jr Portobello Mushroom coupons from her magic freebie bag, it really was a
night to remember.

After KTM, we went to Rochor to have the famous beancurd...

...and proceeded to Yishun Dam to see super souped up cars and bikes and anticipate crashes. NICE.

We are glad to welcome aboard Fierce Tatoo Winston , Norman aka Karate Kid (and his FIVE vespas) and Firdaus the Floorballer.
Congratulations to Reddy for emerging from his cavehole (momentarily).

Durians Durians

Went about the Marsiling/Mandai area in search of the prickly delicacy. Armed with nothing more than a diver torch, sensitive noses and the love for durians.

Not exactly a fruitful trip, while we 'trekked' the old kampong roads (or the present-day training grounds), identifying durian trees after durian trees but no sight of the prickly fruit. The occasional scent of durian fragrance drove our enthusiasm... but no haul from the little excursion.

Unsatisfied, we headed to Geylang for the real deal.
Bao jiak ok~ The thick flesh, the bitter sweet taste, the fragrance...
i can almost taste them again.Getting high on durians... See that euphoric look!
Yeah, Ash... Kiss them, suck them, dig them...

Let me summarise the night in one word:

Shopping Trip

Supposed to be Rae-Screw-Ash's-Rack session over at Tampines... but it slowly evolved to a mini-shopping trip at Mustafa Centre.

We all got something... mainly food items

Ok... maybe not that whinny...Checking out the Non-Alcoholic Drinks. It comes in whiskey/wine/rum flavour as well! Just beside it, there's non-alcoholic beer as well... Healthy section.

It was a great success!
A very eventful trip to Mersing, our virgin trip to the north.
Too tired to do any much captions or comments, i shall let the pictures do the talking =)Met up at Red's place for briefing and final checks.The causeway jam, note Ali at the back.Arrived at the first petrol kiosk, all fueled and ready to go.
Riding through Johor Bahru.Our teacher acting cool there...Our first minor hiccup, but no worriesMersing is just straight aheadOur first pit stop for some hot spicy dinner. *hot-hot!*
As we prepared ourselves for some night riding.
Too bad no pictures available as my camera is unable to capture anything in that darkness, though we had our 2nd minor hiccup. The sandy beach... where me, Maz, hf and Rae had a shag time playing Super-Ultimate Frisbee 2-on-2!Hf joining Maz & Rae in the water after she was caught/tackled/bundled into it... Look like siblings playing...Setting off for Day2, at the pumps again.A bumpy return leg, with potholes and cars overtaking... but lunch is here. Look at the mad rush for food!
Not to mention the weather, which was erratic at times... sun... rain... sun... rain...and presenting to you....Maz, the man!

Finally, the reasons why we came back later than expected (the causeway jam excluded).But it all adds to the experience.
